As I have mentioned before, lately I’ve really been into watching Kdramas. Read all about my favourite ones in my previous blogpost! One thing I particularly like about them is the characters’ fashion. A lot of recent dramas feature some great fashion. They actually got me to look more into Korean fashion and the Seoul fashion scene.
In this blogpost I will list some of the Kdramas which I think have the best fashion, both men’s and women’s. When I think of fashion in Kdramas it is mostly very sophisticated, carefully thought of and always matches the vibe of the drama.
Hotel del Luna
The female lead in Hotel del Luna, Ms. Jang, has a very eccentric personality and she expresses this so well through her fashion. She wears another high-fashion outfit for every other occasion, because you can’t eat dumplings in the same outfit you just wore to send off some ghosts to the afterlife, right?
Romance is a bonus book
Romance is a bonus book was only my third Kdrama, but I completely fell in love with the characters’ fashion, their workspace and their houses. The aesthetic of this drama is so well thought of! I think this drama represents Korean fashion so well, as they always look very sophisticated when going to work or even just in their free-time. And not only did I utterly swoon over the girls’ fashion, the guys gave me back some hope in men’s fashion as well.
It’s okay to not be okay
Another character that expresses her mood very well through her outfits is Ms. Koo from It’s okay to not be okay. She carries around some traumas from her past and how she deals with these is well-reflected through her extraordinary dresses.
One Spring Night
I would describe One Spring Night as a very calm and straightforward Kdrama. And that’s exactly how the lead characters dress too. Simple at first sight, but actually very classy and sophisticated. Just like the drama itself.
Extraordinary You
Besides wearing their preppy high school uniform, the students in Extraordinary You also know how to dress well in their free time. Whether it is a field trip to the beach or a date, they always look very elegant and stylish.
